The Aga Khan School, Dhaka

We take pride in all of the achievements of our students. In the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) they have consistently achieved high standards:

Curriculum

Studies in many countries show that students learn best when they are active and involved, when they are encouraged to think for themselves and when they participate in solving their own problems and challenges.

The curriculum therefore focuses on student-centred learning using appropriate teaching and learning strategies such as group and cooperative learning. Problem solving strategies and higher level thinking skills are consistently emphasized during the student’s learning experience.

The School applies an integrated learning approach at the Primary level with a gradual focus on individual subjects at the Secondary level. In line with the Cambridge curriculum’s requirements, the curriculum is subject-focused at the Secondary level, leading to the CIE IGCSE and Cambridge A level examinations. The Cambridge International Advanced Subsidiary Levels (AS Levels) and Cambridge International Advanced Levels (A Levels) are subject-based qualifications usually taken in the final two years of high school.

We take pride in all of the achievements of our students. In the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) they have consistently achieved high standards:

In the Middle Years from VI to VIII we follow a middle years Philosophy, which focuses on a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of students through delivery of challenging and high quality programs.

The International Baccalaureate is a non-profit international organization established in 1968. The IB Mission Statement is:

  • To develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
  • To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
  • The programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

The number of IB authorized schools has grown and this programme is becoming increasingly popular.
