In June, AKL was commended by the Ministry of Education and Science for achieving first place amongst all schools in Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO) at the Olympiads of the Academic Year 2021.

In the same year, the government honored school principal Davlat Khudonazarov with a Certificate of Honor for the great efforts and achievements of the school. This award is a benchmark of the academic excellence and cultural awareness that AKL strives for in its pursuit to encourage students’ intellectual inquisitiveness. “[Our] students strive to compete at all levels when they see the amazing benefits of education and [receive] even greater opportunities once [they] succeed in their [academics],” the principal explained. “This drives them to [study hard] and implement their best knowledge and skills.”

Sohibnazarova Oiqand in Grade 10 was awarded the title of Best Student of the Year at a regional Olympiad competition. She achieved this commendable feat after competing against students from more than 100 schools, and she remains a source of inspiration for her peers. “In respect to the efforts of my teachers and their enthusiasm and passion, this is [a minor contribution to] my school. I am eager to [represent AKL at higher learning institutions in the country and beyond, and proud to have achieved results that will have a positive [impact on] my future career.”

Sharifamo Odinamamadova graduated with excellence from AKL and was awarded the Red Diploma and Golden Medal, two coveted honors awarded to graduates who have shown excellence in academics. She has also received a Presidential Scholarship and the title of Best Reader, a Republican Competition Award, from the government of Tajikistan.

Success continued when in August 2021, 10th grade student Mirshamsova Vasila participated in the Hippo Olympiad 2021, an international competition that tests students’ knowledge of the English language. Vasila performed at a high level of English proficiency, coming second amongst more than 80 students from across the globe. Her next challenge will be to compete with the winners in Venice, Italy, in autumn 2021.

During the academic year, more than 100 AKL students were winners at Olympiads at regional and state levels, in both academics and sports. In addition, this year’s graduates achieved a 97% admissions rate to universities, 69% of whom will attend international universities. These achievements also reflect the skills and efforts of teachers who work tirelessly to motivate and inspire the students every day.

Congratulations to all the winners as well as AKL staff and parents, whose invaluable contributions allowed our students to achieve such outstanding results.
