Grade 6 PYP Exhibitions: Global Warming Action

30 June 2010

This team collected Kshs 4,000/= from the exhibition and donated four solar cookers to the slum dwellers of Kibera. One solar cooker costs approximately Kshs 800/=.

With the extra money, they bought and planted trees at a forest to reduce carbon foot prints.

Slum dwellers cannot afford to buy cookers and instead use fire which contributes to pollution and global warming. We hope our action supports the fight against global warming.

The group has also been making their personal contribution to our planet by saving electricity and teaching others how to.

Group members: Salwa Asselman, Salman Hasham, Collins Kibe, Kaycia Jinnah and Fiya Shah
