Children's Day Celebration

22 November 2011

The students at the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad celebrated Children's Day with a special assembly and a talent show!

Children's Day is celebrated all over India on November 14th. This date is the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister.

Here at the Academy we celebrated this day with an opening Assembly on Children's Rights, led by Class 2. All the students were reminded of the Universal Rights of the Child and we discussed the implications of these, especially here in India.

In the afternoon many of the children were able to show us how gifted they are as we held a lively Talent Show.

From traditional Kuchupudi dancing to Bollywood; Hindi poetry and catchy songs both in Hindi and English to mime.

A great afternoon's entertainment!!
