The Aga Khan Schools in India

Building on a century of leadership in educational development, Aga Khan Education Service, India manages eight schools, one residential hostel, seventeen Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres and two Aga Khan Pre-Schools, in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Telangana.

It believes in enriching lives by providing quality education, which it has been doing since the inception of its first school in 1905 in Mundra, Gujarat.

The foundations of the Aga Khan Education Services were put in place by Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah, Aga Khan III. AKES currently operates more than 200 schools and several educational programmes that provide quality pre-school, primary, secondary and higher secondary education services to more than 75,000 students in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, United Arab Emirates and Madagascar. Schools will also be developed in Afghanistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
