Eligibility Criteria for Admission to Grade VIII

In order to qualify for admission to Grade VIII, the candidate should have:

  1. Passed grade VII annual examination or be appearing in grade VII or VIII annual examination during the year of application.
  2. Not have been registered with any assessment Board for a level equal to or above Secondary School Certificate Part One (SSC-I) at the time of applying for admission.
  3. Be at least 12 years of age, or maximum 14 years of age on 31st March of the first academic session for Grade VIII students.

All candidates for admission have to sit for the Computer Based Test (CBT):

The tests assess the content knowledge of the key subjects (such as English, Mathematics, Science and Urdu). Following weightage is agreed:

  1. Math 30%
  2. Science 30 %
  3. English 25 %
  4. Urdu 15 %

Documents required for Grade VIII admission

  1. All applicants need a certificate from their current school stating the student's name, father's name, student's date of birth and the class he or she is studying in.
  2. Attested Form B and/or attested birth certificate.
  3. School leaving certificate counter signed by deputy director (to be submitted after the confirmation of admission).

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to Grade XI

Students who clear the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) (or its equivalent) annual examination from the AKU-EB or any other recognised Board / University, with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in the Science Group, are eligible to apply for admission.

Students from Aga Khan Schools who achieve A grade or higher in the SSC examination are admitted to grade XI without a test and an interview, and are exempted from paying the admission fee.

All candidates for admission have to sit for the entrance test and an interview. The objectives of the entrance test include, but are not limited to:

  1. Finding out the candidate’s level of understanding of basic concepts
  2. Determining the candidate’s potential for further education
  3. Exploring the candidate’s linguistic competencies in English and Urdu
  4. Finding out the candidate’s ability to organise and present information about him/herself and his/her immediate surroundings

The written test to interview ratio is 80:20. The duration of the written test is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The entrance test is structured separately for two Groups: Pre-Engineering and Pre-Medical.

Documents required for Grade XI admission

  1. Attested copy of SSC Board Registration / Enrolment Card
  2. Attested copy of Detailed Marks Certificate of SSC-I or SSC (Composite) examination
  3. Attested copy of Form B or original birth certificate
  4. Entrance Test Admit Card
